Jim Mitchell '62 has been awarded The Mike Byrnes Indoor Track Coach of the Year award for his success as Head Girl's Track Coach at Bronxville High School.

An article on the National Scholastic website states:
Jim was born in Somers, New York in 1944, and graduated from Regis High School and Fordham University (with a B.A., and an M.S. in Latin and Greek). He began coaching in 1967 at Cathedral High School in Queens and then was an Assistant Coach with Fordham College from 1973-1978. In 1978, Jim took a job teaching Latin at Bronxville (in Westchester County, New York) and by the following year, he was coaching the school’s first real girls’ track team, a role he continues to fill today.

Congratulations, Jim! Click here to read the full article.
